Improvement of the response for two- way solid slabs is the main important which increase the ultimate strength capacity and decrease the maximum deformations. The aim of this experimental investigation was to study the effect of change in the steel reinforcing bars directions on the response of two- way solid slabs. The investigated parameters in this study were carried out three different solid slab thicknesses and the change in the angle of steel reinforcing bars mesh directions, which make with the major axis of the slab. Three thickness (8, 10, and 12) Cm and ten angles of inclination (0, 5, 10,15,20,25,30,35,40, and 45) degrees were considered. In this paper, thirty specimens were tested experimentally, and divided into three groups according to the solid slab thickness. Each group contains ten specimens, one as a reference and the other nine were reinforce by steel bars by one of the inclination angle. The obtained results in this study indicated that, under static loading, the response of the two- way solid slabs depends on the reinforcing bars directions and the solid slab thickness. Very encouraging results and conclusions were obtained and presented in shape of figures and curves, which may be useful for designer and increasing the safety when dealing with the design of concrete slabs.
